Katherine Bucknell edited four volumes of Christopher Isherwood’s diaries and The Animals, a volume of letters between Isherwood and his life partner Don Bachardy. She also edited W.H. Auden’s Juvenilia: Poems 1922-1928 and co-edited the series Auden Studies.

She has published four novels: Canarino, Leninsky Prospekt, What You Will, and +1. She has also created an audio book, The Flynn Guarneri.

Her new book, Christopher Isherwood Inside Out (2024), is a major biography of the British-American writer best known for his novels Goodbye to Berlin–the basis for Cabaret–and A Single Man.
